Congratulations to both MOPWR2U and RubberFrog for
winning the truck and car of the month for April 2009!!
RubberFrog's 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 QC won over two other Ram's, owned by BEAR and RomeoSoldier03 MOPWR2U's 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 won over L and R Two's Charger.
RubberFrog's Information:
I
owe a lot of the credit for this truck to my wife. My first mod was a
catback that she bought me as a surprise less than two weeks after I
brought the truck home! From the very beginning , she was gung ho about
a lift and tires and it was less than a year before I had a 2" front
level and a 3" body lift installed with Dick Cepek DC-1 rims, and
FunCountry II 35's. My wife saw the topper on another truck and told me
how great it looked. I assured her that nobody made a "frameless"
topper and that she just didn't get a good look at it. We argued about
it for three weeks until I finally saw one... I still haven't heard the
end of that! Recon cab and tail lights round out the exterior along
with an SRT hood, pocket flares, custom badging, Hellas behind the
grill, and modified 2500 tow hooks. My wife is real big about the
exterior mods, but my heart is under the hood. I have a custom ground
torque cam fed by a Vararam intake and a ported throttle body. It
breathes via a set of Edelbrock headers, a Magnaflow Y pipe, and a
Gibson catback dumped at the rear axle. It's all kept cool with a Viper
shroudless efan and a 180 tstat. Tuning is handled via a Diablo
Predator and a (newly added) Dynojet Wideband Commander air fuel gauge.
Inside, the family is entertained by a Kenwood DDX512 double din nav
unit with an additional 10" flip down dvd screen in the rear. Future
mods include more lift, more performance, leather interior, and a
custom front end conversion. Special thanks to my wife for all of her
support getting the truck where it is and where it is going! MOPWR2U's information: Purchased
new in Sept. 2008, at Lunt Motor Co, in Cedar City, UT. Lunt Motor Co
has been in business for 75 years, with Dodge being the only brand they
sell. Current owners: Mitch Lunt, and his son Jim Lunt, are both
excellent people to work with if you need a new Dodge. I gaurantee you
will get a fair price.
The Dodge Challenger is the car I have
wanted for the last 30 years. I could never afford one 30 years ago,
and I did not have the mechanical skill or time required to restore one
of the originals. So as soon as I saw the Challenger concept I knew I
would be buying one. Having the satelite radio pre-set on the classic
rock station for the test drive sealed the deal, when Brian Adam's song
"Summer of '69" came on it was like I had stepped into a time machine,
and had gone back 30 years to a better less stressfull time. $40,000 is
a fair amount of money for a car, but it is dirt cheap for a time
machine, so I bought the Challenger. This Challenger has been
the most satisfying vehicle purchase I have ever made. Everything about
this car is high quality, and leaves me with a sense of satisfaction
when I drive the car. The power is great, handling is great, fit and
finish is top notch. Sound suppression is superb, and there is no wind
noise at any legal speed. The seats are very comfortable, the dash
layout is just right, and even the stereo is a quality item. I've
owned several nice vehicles over the years, but this Challenger is the
best of the best. Dodge needs to be congratulated on a job well done.
